Starting July 2025, IBM’s watsonx Orchestrate will be natively available on OCI. Businesses can now use AI-powered agents to automate complex tasks, starting with human resources functions like payroll analysis and recruitment, across both Oracle and non-Oracle systems.

These lightweight, purpose-built large language models will be accessible via OCI Data Science and AI Quick Actions later this year. This gives enterprises access to scalable AI without the burden of large infrastructure investments.
By making open-source Granite models readily available on OCI, Oracle and IBM are offering businesses more choice, greater efficiency, and faster deployment of AI tools tailored to specific tasks.
Sustainability and Cloud Modernization
The partnership doesn’t stop at AI. IBM’s Envizi ESG Suite, designed for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data management, will also be hosted on OCI, starting in Saudi Arabia within 12 months. This supports enterprises aiming to meet growing regulatory and sustainability demands.
In parallel, IBM Consulting is expanding services to help Oracle customers modernize IT infrastructure. Using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization on OCI bare metal, IBM will assist in migrating legacy systems to more agile, hybrid-cloud architectures, optimizing for both legacy and AI workloads.

IBM is also launching a catalog of over 150 pre-built agents, already integrated with 80+ enterprise apps. This dramatically reduces time-to-value, allowing companies to deploy intelligent workflows in days rather than months.
From automating employee onboarding to enhancing procurement operations, these agents offer plug-and-play value with deep customization potential, an asset for CIOs and operations leaders alike.
Market Impact: Setting the Pace in Hybrid AI
This partnership is poised to capture significant ground in the fast-growing $2 trillion hybrid AI market. By offering flexible deployment options across public, sovereign, and government cloud regions, it directly addresses regulatory compliance and sovereignty concerns.
