  1. Data collection capacity: Over 6 million square kilometers of Earth imagery per day. It also includes up to 3.6 million square kilometers of 30 cm-class imagery.

Dan Smoot, CEO of Maxar Intelligence, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “This incredible achievement puts Maxar in a category of its own within the geospatial industry, and it’s been made possible thanks to the hard work, dedication and talent of the many people who have supported this program over the years. This is just the beginning.”

Further, he adds, “This additional capacity enables us to collect more timely data over more locations, and it will further fuel the industry’s most advanced 2D and 3D geospatial content products.”

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 has cemented itself as the workhorse of the industry. The rocket, celebrated for its reusability and reliability, has been responsible for numerous satellite launches, resupply missions to the International Space Station (ISS), and even crewed flights.

As of early 2025, it has successfully completed over 431 launches, with 386 total landings and 360 total reflights, making it the most frequently launched orbital rocket in U.S. history.

This additional capacity allows Maxar to capture more data in near real-time, enhancing its AI-powered technologies and software platform.
