Some careers move sideways for years before they suddenly widen. Sue Yannaccone’s did the opposite. It has widened, steadily and almost continuously, for more than two decades, until in March 2026, she was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Compass International Holdings (NYSE: COMP), the parent company to a nine-brand portfolio that includes @properties, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, CENTURY 21, Christie’s International Real Estate, Coldwell Banker, Compass, Corcoran, ERA, and Sotheby’s International Realty.
The scale of what Sue Yannaccone now oversees is difficult to picture until the numbers are said aloud: more than 340,000 real estate professionals and affiliates operating across 120 countries and territories, supported by more than 2,000 independently owned and operated brokerages. It is, in effect, one of the largest human networks in residential real estate, and Sue has spent the better part of twenty years learning, brand by brand, how to run it.
Five Years Steering Anywhere’s Brands
Before Compass International Holdings, Sue spent more than five years at Anywhere Real Estate Inc. From November 2020 to February 2026, she served as President and CEO of Anywhere Brands and Anywhere Advisors, a tenure of more than five years. She assumed leadership of Anywhere Brands, formerly Realogy Franchise Group, in 2020, and later expanded her responsibilities to include Anywhere Advisors and the company-owned brokerage operations.
It was, by any measure, the longest single chapter of her career, and it followed a period at Realogy Brokerage Group, where she served as Regional Executive Vice President of the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest regions of Coldwell Banker Realty from March 2018 to November 2020, overseeing the sales operations of 239 Coldwell Banker offices and supporting NRT’s national commercial brokerage operations.
The ERA Years
Before Coldwell Banker, there was ERA, and at ERA there were two distinct jobs. From September 2016 to March 2018, one year and seven months, Sue was President and CEO of ERA Real Estate, a global franchisor operating in more than 30 countries with nearly 40,000 sales agents worldwide. Just before that, from July 2015 to September 2016, she was Chief Operating Officer of ERA Franchise Systems LLC, one year and three months spent leading a sprawling list of functions: business consulting, field services, an in-house call center, transitions, learning and development, strategic initiatives and affinity groups, and brand events, awards, and recognition. Her mandate there, as she described it, was to leverage a new brand positioning to accelerate organizational and customer growth through mergers and acquisitions, expanded lines of business, and agent productivity.
Building the Foundation, Brand by Brand
Sue’s earlier career reads like an apprenticeship in the machinery behind real estate franchising, the parts most agents and homebuyers never see. From January 2013 to July 2015, two years and seven months, she was Senior Vice President of Network Services at HSF Affiliates, LLC, the company managing the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Prudential, and Real Living Real Estate franchise brands, where her focus was franchisee engagement, retention, and growth.
Before that, she spent nine months, from May 2012 to January 2013, as Vice President of Network Services at Brookfield Residential Property Services in Morristown, New Jersey. These roles built on her earlier experience in residential real estate operations and franchise services.
Her time at Real Living Real Estate, LLC ran two years and nine months in total: Vice President of Operations from January 2010 to June 2012, overseeing broker and agent services, relocation relationships, and the network support center, followed by a shorter stint as Director of Contract Administration from October 2009 to January 2010.
And beneath all of it sits the longest tenure of her early career: six years and seven months as Manager of Contract Administration, Franchise, at GMAC Home Services, from April 2003 to October 2009. Before entering the residential side of the industry, she began her career in commercial real estate.
Beyond the Boardroom
Sue’s professional recognition has followed the size of what she runs. In the 2025 Swanepoel Power 200, she was ranked No. 8 overall and was the highest-ranking woman in the top 20. She was also inducted into RISMedia’s Newsmakers Hall of Fame in 2025.
Outside of her operating roles, she founded What Moves Her, a national initiative launched in 2020 to support and inspire women in real estate through leadership development, community building, events, and professional development resources. She is also described as a frequent speaker, mentor, and advocate for diversity in leadership, someone committed to building a real estate industry that reflects the communities it serves.
It is a fitting arc for someone who has spent her entire adult working life inside the architecture of homeownership: from a contract administrator’s desk at GMAC in 2003, to the helm of an enterprise serving more than 340,000 real estate professionals and affiliates across 120 countries and territories in 2026. The industry got bigger. So did her chair in it.
