David Soliman: Engineering Faith Across the Global Divide

Houston, Texas, is a city defined by its sprawling, seemingly infinite miles of concrete. It is a metropolis of highways and overpasses, a place where mobility is synonymous with survival. In a city built on this kind of sprawling scale, a reliable vehicle is not a luxury; it is an absolute necessity. A car is the physical mechanism that connects a struggling parent to a paycheck, a sick child to a doctor, and an isolated soul to a community. Few people understand the profound, life-altering mechanics of this reality quite like David Soliman.

Born in a pastor’s home in Egypt, David’s life has been a study in crossing massive divides. For the past two decades, he has been building bridges between the church and the community, between people who have and people who are overlooked, and between who a person is and who God made them to be. He is a man who can speak the language of corporate automotive engineering just as fluently as he speaks the language of global spiritual revival.

Bridging the Houston Divide

David’s professional journey is anchored in the grueling, practical realities of business and machinery. From January 2005 to January 2012, a span of seven years and one month, he operated as a Business Owner for a Houston Goodyear car company. This deep industry knowledge paved the way for his expansive leadership role as the President of the South Houston Automobile Dealer Association, a part-time role he has held since April 2012, spanning fourteen years and seven months.

Under his guidance, the association serves nearly 190 franchised new car and truck dealers who employ over 30,000 people in the Houston area, promoting a competitive automotive industry while championing community service programs.

But David’s true masterpiece is found in how he leveraged this automotive empire for the Kingdom of God. In April 2012, he founded Bridging the Gap, Bridge His Grace Ministry, stepping in as its full-time President to stand in the gap for the least among us. The local arm of this ministry, known as the C.A.R.S. program, has become an astonishing lifeline in Houston. Over the years, it has blessed more than 5,000 Houston families with reliable vehicles, impacting an estimated 15,000 people. As he observes, a car is often the singular difference between holding a job and losing it.

Before any of this monumental work began, his calling was clarified during an internship at Lakewood Church, where the mandate for evangelism and outreach became undeniable. Today, his business acumen continues to flourish alongside his ministry. Since September 2020, for six years and two months, he has served as the self-employed Chief Executive Officer of Solarex LLC, a Houston home services and solar solutions company. There, two decades of experience in architecture, engineering, and the automotive industry are utilized daily to energize society with reliable, sustainable energy.

The Global Intercessor

While his hands are busy engineering solutions in Texas, his heart remains fiercely tethered to the global church. The mission of Bridging the Gap extends far beyond the Texas border. Globally, the organization has discipled more than 12,500 people. This staggering network reaches from Houston to Alaska, France, Germany, El Salvador, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Egypt, the Middle East, Ghana, the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago, and Indonesia.

His deep roots in the Middle East led him to a vital role with World Prays, a global prayer movement led by Brian Alarid. Since August 2021, for five years and three months, David has served as the Middle East Director. The movement exists for one audacious purpose: that every person on the face of the earth would be prayed for by name by 2033.

“Not prayed for in general. By name,” he emphasizes. “Roughly eight billion people, each one known, each one lifted up.”

He carries this movement into a region he knows from the inside, ensuring that the ancient, resilient church of the Middle East is not only prayed for, but actively praying. Grounded in Matthew 28:19, his work is focused on finishing the task of the Great Commission, a task he firmly believes begins on our knees.

The Bridge Leads Back Home

All of these experiences, the grease, the grit, the prayers, and the profound global encounters, have culminated in his literary debut. On September 26, 2026, David released his highly anticipated book, ‘The Bridge Leads Back Home: Grace to Serve and to Discover the Joy of Discipleship.’

The book carries raw, redemptive stories from Houston, Paris, Anchorage, Egypt, and across the Middle East, offering a theology of healing and restoration underneath all of them. He wrote it for anyone who has served and quietly wondered whether it mattered, and for leaders trying to get their church past its own walls. With all proceeds supporting his global mission, David Soliman continues to prove that whether you are repairing a transmission or praying for a nation, the ultimate goal is always the same. You are simply building a bridge to bring people home.
